In Deutschland nicht ganz unbekannt ist die amerikanische Limonade Mountain Dew (Englisch für Bergtau). Die gelbe, mit Zitrone aromatisierte und kräftig sprudelnde Brause wurde 1940 von zwei Getränkeabfüllern in Tennessee erfunden. 1958 wurde die Geschmacksformel verändert und unter der Marke Mountain Dew seit 1964 von der PepsiCo. in den gesamten Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika vertrieben.
